Primary Functions:
The Coordinating Committee will have the following specific responsibilities: Hold regularly scheduled meetings open to the church members by request or invitation; Implement, but not initiate, the mission, vision, and purpose of Stamford Baptist Church (as developed by the elders) in cooperation with the leadership of the Board of Elders; Organize and appoint temporary task forces or special work groups to implement the mission, vision and purpose of Stamford Baptist Church as developed by the elders; Appoint a Nominating Committee for the elective officers of the Church. The Nominating Committee shall present its proposed candidates for elective office to the elders for approval. At least one elder shall serve on the committee; Engage legal counsel as necessary; Consult on all personnel matters; Appoint a committee to review the Senior Pastor, in concert with the lay elders. The appointed number of church members shall be one more than the number of lay elders; and Develop and approve policies and guidelines for Church operations and facilities use.
